My Top Ten Theatre Experiences of 2018

It’s the first holiday season that this blog is in operation which means I get to take part in the tradition of looking back on my favorite theatrical experiences of the year! I’ve been lucky to see some amazing shows and performances this year, which could easily all be on this list, but I’ve done my best to narrow it down. Also, I’m calling it “theatrical experiences” as opposed to shows not because I’m trying to be fancy, but because two of these aren’t actually productions. So, in no particular order, here we go!

I never expected to love this musical as much as I do. When I heard about the pop-rock musical about the wives of Henry VIII, I thought it sounded like a fun concept, but the run at the Arts Theatre didn’t originally line up with any of my London trips so I figured I wasn’t going to get a chance to see it. I grabbed a ticket when it extended and fell absolutely in love when I saw it. It’s one of the most creative, intelligent, and exciting new musicals in recent years and is 100% deserving of all the buzz it’s received. I’m so happy to see the momentum behind it growing and I’m definitely planning another trip to the the Arts when I head back to London in February!
